Program Graduation Requirements

Students who begin the Academy in 2017, or later, school year will be under the following program of study
Required Courses:
  • AP Human Geography w/APWe Certificate*​
  • AGS AP World History*
  • AP Capstone (AP Seminar and AP Research*
  • AGS AP US History*
  • AP Comparative Government and Politics / AP Macroeconomics*

​Language Requirements:
  • Must qualify and earn the Seal of Biliteracy
  • Most CDM students qualify.

Program Course Map 
Cultural Studies I, II, III*
  • International School Partnership
  • Cultural Studies will be administered through AP Human Geography, AP Seminar and AP Comp Govt
  • Students will be partnered with a student from a school abroad in their 9th, 10th and 12th grade years.
  • With their foreign counterpart, they will complete 4-8 assignments a year for credit.
  • This will culminate in the tangible for their Senior Project.

Additional Coursework (3 units)
Students must earn 3 additional elective units for program graduation.  This is an opportunity to explore your unique interests and passions. These units can be earned in one of the following ways:
  1. An approved college course
  2. Global Perspectives for International Travelers (UCSD course tied to one of the AGS international travel trips.)
