GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

COURSES
  • ​AP Human Geography w/ APWE Certificate*
  • AP World History
  • AP Capstone* (AP Research & AP Seminar)
  • ​AP US History
  • AP Comparative Government & Politics* / AP Macroeconomics
* Courses and options only open to AGS students.
BILITERACY SEAL
  • Must qualify and earn the Seal of Biliteracy​
SPEAKER SERIES
  • Attend 4 Speakers/Events a Year
  • Organize a speaker as a class during Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year
CULTURAL STUDIES
  • International School Partnership.
  • Cultural Studies will be administered through AP Human Geography.
  • Students will be partnered with a student from a school abroad in their 9th grade year.
  • With their foreign counterpart, they will complete 4-8 assignments a year for credit.​
MISC.
Three additional elective units earned in one of the following ways: ​
  • Approved in-seat College Course
  • Global Perspectives for International Travelers (George Mason course tied to one of the AGS international travel trips)​

The AGS courses are self-contained so students are in a small learning community with the other AGS students in their grade. Each grade is a cohort.
